In-game Mail and Lvl Cap
1.) In-game mail system....new window desined for the creation and recieving of mail by in-game players.
insert player name(s) in txt box (box #1), insert mail title in txt box (box #2), insert main content of your letter into large txt box (box #3) press send button and other player recieves mail for review anytime they want.
This system would help in a ton of ways...since you cannot get into contact with players when they are not online, this method would prevent the hasstle of waiting or not being on at the same time.
This could be used to help newcomers out when an experienced player can send a mail message telling them about the basics of the game etc. (or better yet have a pre-made Anet message sent too all new characters wehn they FIRSt enter the game...so they can learn about the mail system AND the game)
This can be used for guilds to more or less give notice of guild battles etc. as well as use teh announcement feature
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.) i hust hate this level cap!!! i love being able to get higher level continously....you get to lvl 20 way too fast
sidenote: the game is still very dependant on team at every area of teh game (PvE is my focus) and i hate how even at lvl 20 a warrior can bairly even solo some low lvl areas if they fight more that 2 enemies :/
(and don't say anything about builds, because people should be able to use builds they like and still progress throguh the game)

it cant be abused that bad....just add a "block" or "filter" feature just like your email
but i can't see it being abused that much, only by people that might not like you, and when that happens..."block"
there is way too high of a playerbase for people to be jsut spamming to other people unless they have a bot that automatically does it for them...i think it would work
another idea would work for the lvl cap thing but it wont get implemented cuz it is too much work.
World map 1: lvl 1-20
World map 2: lvl 20-60
World map 3: lvl 60-100
you can return to other world maps but you will be unable to be in any of the PvP battles nor can you party with any player below 1/2 your lvl.

Actually it would be a nice idea to add something like this for guilds, and friend lists only. The guild notice board doesnt allow enough characters to begin with, and it would make a nice addittion where a guild leader can send out a message to all its members alerting them of some important news etc. The friend message box would also be useful. example: some nights when my friend isnt online i alt-tab out of guildwars leave him a message on his yahoo to tell him i cant play guildwars tonight. half the time he doesnt check it anyways. and when he logs on.. he sits around wondering where i am. you could add a beep noise to the initial start up to indercate to the player they have new mail. Green Highlight of text for subject = guild message. light blue = friend list. and gold = offical guildwars message, if you felt like sending one out.
To recive a message from anyone in the game should not be possable until they have been added to your friends list. Optional options: filter mail by color heading, orgainsie mail by color heading.. there wouldnt be any need to block mail. because you can just block people and friends anyways. Only a guild leader can send out guild mail..
And to prevent servers from clogging due to mail being sent. put a cap on it. example: 1 guild message per day.. and 2 messages per person, per day on your friends list. (allow 1000 word limit for both when writting a message)
And inform Players that there old messages(by date recived) will be deleted auto-matically after 3 days.
And another small button, (optional). The player can, Print out a mail they have recived. *This requires a printer to be connected to there computer.
Or an option to save the mail to there computer. (format .txt)
what you think?

In-game mail system of some rudimentary kind might be nice.
I disagree about the level-cap. I like it. Once you're 20th, you get skill points, which you can use towards adding skills that you capture. So, you still progress, after a fashion, it's just the nature of the progression has shifted.
I like the cap because at that point it forces everyone to rely more on wit and strategy than on raw power. You will not infinitely gain hitpoints; you will top out on that and your gear, and eventually find yourself having to actually maximize the use of the various skills and abilities as best as possible.
If I wanted to jump on the experience treadmill, I have many other games I could turn to, ranging from Diablo II to Dungeon Siege.
Also, it completely and deftly avoids a developer problem where they'd have to constantly keep up with the characters, eventually leading to a place where nothing more can challange you. It's much easier to build challanges when you know that the cap is at 20, than if there's never a cap at all.
I speak from some mild degree of experience on this subject, from a developer's point of view. Level caps are nicer than you know.

one level of material equals much more content for everyone to play
the idea is to keep people together and you want to make level classes

In a couple of updates Im sure they will increase the cap.. as new chapters come out. Yes maybe they are just keeping us all at a low level for the moment. before progression to a higher level of exsistance to fight stronger beasts i dunno. But honestly if it stayed at level 20 for the next 20 years. it would just feel like another AD&D game like baulders gate. or nwn's..

No, ArenaNet announced repeatedly that the level cap would not be changing. And they shouldn't change it.
What's the difference between fighting a Lv100 monster at Lv80 or fighting a Lv25 monster at Lv20? Nothing.
During the early Betas, they did have a mail system, but it was removed later. They tested it, it didn't work out.

So, about any build progressing easily through the game...no.
Why should a domination mesmer be able to solo everywhere? They're suited to specific tasks. If they can't fulfil their role, why should they be successful? Why should an elementalist tank as effectively as a warrior? The answer, he shouldn't be able to unless he runs an impressive water/earth build...in which case he won't deal epic fire/air damage.
The game *shouldn't* be easy. It should be challenging and thought-provoking, as it is. For the sarcastic poster who made a "clever" attempt at condeming the level cap system, I'm sorry you don't like it. There are plenty of games out there where you can get to level 99 and deal 9999+ damage 18+ times in one ultimate fury hyper dragon rage aura death attack.

i just think taht with such a low lvl cap it should be considered a level system at all...it may as well just use some other form of recording our experience instead of levels, because the "level" itself is too easy to obtain, and thus does give any option for any challenges of THAt type, for games like diablo 2 etc. i enjoyed the challenge of trying to level up my lvl 68 Assassin....but that is only because it takes time and you can go around slicing the shyt out of every enemy you see to obtain it...and i like slicing

Both of those essentially say the same thing. And both of them happen to be correct. End of level cap discussion.
For the mail, if they have a way to block people from mailing you, then I am all for it.

Why do you hate it. Many people say they hate it but never any reason...just having a higher cap for the sake of it is kind of why they didnt put it in, in the first place.

A mail system would be great, especially for a guild, as already mentioned.

Yeah, I'd like to see the mail system inplmented, very handy. Especially with a really cheesy "You've got mail" voice over
As for the level cap, it's ok, but I wouldn't mind it being a bit higer, but being low, while having higer enemies means you must work together.
